The beating heart of Reykjavik's weekend
Kolaportid has been Iceland's largest market for over three decades - a warm, busy hall where locals and visitors come together every weekend.
Housed in the old customs building by the harbour, Kolaportid opened in 1989 and quickly became a Reykjavik institution. Every weekend the hall fills with vendors selling everything from vintage clothing and vinyl to hand-knitted lopapeysur and traditional Icelandic delicacies.
It's more than a market - it's a meeting place. We give new vendors an easy, low-cost way to start selling, and shoppers a reason to come back every single weekend.
